  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 20 May 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-17574

That the Parliament welcomes the unveiling of a new Breathing Space bench at Uddingston Train Station as part of Mental Health Awareness Week; recognises what it sees as the importance of providing spaces that encourage individuals to pause, reflect, and engage in meaningful conversations about their mental health; notes that Uddingston is one of five stations across Scotland to receive the latest Breathing Space benches, bringing the national total to 12; commends the collaborative efforts of Network Rail, ScotRail, NHS 24’s Breathing Space service, the Samaritans, and local authorities in delivering this initiative; considers the value of such inclusive and accessible spaces in fostering a culture of openness and support around mental health; expresses gratitude to all those involved in bringing the project to life, and hopes that the bench will be embraced by the community of Uddingston and beyond as a lasting symbol of care, connection, and collective resilience.
