That the Parliament welcomes Aberdeen Fascination of Plants Day, which is taking place from 12 to 18 May 2025; notes that Fascination of Plants Day, which was founded in 2012, is a global event highlighting the important role that plants play in society, and encouraging people to give more recognition to the impact that plants have on people's lives and the wider environment, with organisations from 56 countries taking part in the biennial celebration; understands that events will be taking place throughout the week at venues across Aberdeen, including the David Welch Winter Gardens, the Zoology building at the University of Aberdeen and the Cruickshank Botanic Garden, with events being organised by the University of Aberdeen, Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC), the James Hutton Institute, Friends of the Cruickshank Botanic Garden, Friends of Duthie Park as well as the Duthie Park Ranger Service; believes that activities range from a spring plant sale to educational sessions; congratulates Dr Morag McFadyen, honorary lecturer at Robert Gordon University (RGU), who, alongside colleagues from Aberdeen City Council and Duthie Park rangers, pulled together an informative and exciting programme of events for all generations, and wishes them the best for the events.
