Inveresk Community Speed Watch

  • Submitted by: Colin Beattie, Midlothian North and Musselburgh, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 16 May 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-17548

That the Parliament congratulates volunteers in Inveresk on launching their community speed watch initiative; notes that volunteers in Inveresk are working in partnership with the local police, enabling them to be trained to use the police speed gun to record the speed of vehicles in their area; further notes that this is the first initiative of its kind in East Lothian, and wishes the group well in its aim of collecting data, with which to work with decision-makers, to ensure that roads throughout Inveresk are safe for both drivers and pedestrians.
