  • Submitted by: Alexander Burnett, Aberdeenshire West, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 19 May 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-17529

That the Parliament congratulates Jilly Grant, from Newton of Ardoyne, Oyne, on winning the Innovator of the Year award at the National Women in Agriculture (NWA) awards in London; understands that this award recognises her trailblazing achievements as co-founder of agritech firm Herd Advance, which she set up in 2018 with her husband, Murdoch Duncan, at their farm; further understands that these awards aim to strengthen the network of women in UK agriculture and throw a spotlight on their achievements; notes that Herd Advance and its Stockman technology allows farmers to monitor livestock in real-time and to sort cattle automatically, effectively digitising their herds and ultimately giving farmers better data and help with decision-making, and wishes Jilly and her husband every success in the future.
