That the Parliament welcomes the news that Aberdeen City Council has taken ownership of the New Riverbank School in Tillydrone; understands that the new school, built with £29 million of investment and located on Coningham Gardens, opened its doors on 9 May 2025, taking in pupils from the existing Riverbank School ahead of summer recess; understands that the school provides space for up to 651 primary-age learners, as well as early learning and nursery places for up to 60 children, with facilities including a 3G sports pitch, as well as external outdoor play and learning facilities; believes that this school, delivered under the SNP-led council administration, is a testament to the Scottish Government’s mission to ensure that children in Scotland get the best start in life, and hopes that the school provides a fantastic learning environment for children in Tillydrone for many generations to come.
