Welcoming the Big Belmont Bash

  • Submitted by: Kevin Stewart, Aberdeen Central, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 15 May 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-17515

That the Parliament welcomes the return of the Aberdeen street festival, The Big Belmont Bash, for the second year in a row; notes that the free festival, which celebrates the community and history of Belmont Street, Back Wynd, Gaelic Lane and Little Belmont Street in Aberdeen city centre, is the brainchild of local community group, The Collective on the Cobbles; understands that the day-long festival, which will take place on 31 May 2025 and return again on 6 September 2025, will see live musical performances curated by Fine Times, with games and prizes on offer, as well as workshops and activities for people to try their hand at, with charities, shops, restaurants, cafes and bars all getting involved throughout the day and evening; further understands that there will be a charity tombola in support of local charity, Citymoves Dance Agency; believes that The Bash will provide fun and entertainment for thousands of people to enjoy in Aberdeen, and hopes that both days are a tremendous success for all those involved.
