Celebrating David Attenborough’s 99th Birthday and his Legacy in Marine Conservation

That the Parliament sends its best wishes to David Attenborough on the occasion of his 99th birthday; recognises his unparalleled contribution to the understanding of the natural world over more than 70 years of filmmaking; welcomes the launch of his latest film, Ocean with David Attenborough, which looks at the threats to marine environments around the world, including climate change and destructive fishing methods; acknowledges what it sees as the importance and outstanding beauty of Scotland’s unique marine environments; understands that Ocean with David Attenborough features examples of successful marine ecosystem recovery, including the Lamlash Bay no-take zone, and believes that Scotland can and should set an international example for best practice in marine protection.
