That the Parliament recognises the end of an era in the Wigtownshire town of Stranraer with news that Ken Pearson Photography and Studio is to close its doors after more than five decades in business; notes that the popular photographer established his business in 1973, specialising in photo restorations, portraits, pet photography and passport photos, as well as selling frames and accessories; acknowledges that Ken took up his photography career after receiving his first Pentax camera from his grandmother, who gave him money to buy it, paving the way for his decades-long career; accepts that the family-run business on Charlotte Street has been a cornerstone of the community by publishing old archives of special occasions and events in the town down the years, and wishes Ken a long and happy retirement.
