That the Parliament congratulates Dalziel Rugby Club on hosting the 33rd Annual Festival of Youth Rugby, taking place on 26 April 2025 at Dalziel Park; recognises the participation of hundreds of young players from across Lanarkshire and beyond, including teams from Motherwell, Hamilton, Strathaven, Uddingston, Lenzie and East Kilbride, as well as touring sides from Ulster, Sale and Bowdon; commends the festival’s longstanding commitment to grassroots sport and youth development; pays tribute to the legacy of the late Alan Calder, whose vision and dedication laid the foundation for this much-celebrated event, and acknowledges the festival’s continued role in promoting the values of inclusivity, teamwork and sportsmanship among young people across Scotland and the wider UK.
