That the Parliament welcomes the launch of the ONE SeedPod, which is a food and drink industry innovation hub located at Scotland’s Rural College Craibstone Campus; notes that the state-of-the-art facility contains a product development kitchen, demonstration kitchen, food-safe pilot plant, process testing spaces and 11 manufacturing kitchens, as well as co-working, event and meeting spaces; understands that £21 million facility received £10 million joint capital funding from the Scottish and UK governments through the Aberdeen City Region Deal, £5.4 million was provided by Opportunity North East, £3.1 million was awarded through the Scottish Government’s Just Transition Fund and £2 million came from Scottish Enterprise; understands that food and drink is north east Scotland’s second largest industry, employing 22,000 people and turning over £2.4 billion each year; further understands that ONE SeedPod aims to increase sector turnover by 5% per annum, increase inward investment and become a hub for regional and national growth; applauds all who enabled ONE SeedPod to become a reality, and sends its best wishes to everyone taking the project forward.
