That the Parliament congratulates St Aidan’s High School, in Wishaw, on its remarkable achievement in winning the ninth annual Lanarkshire Schools Public Speaking Competition, held on 23 October 2024 at the historic Rutherglen Town Hall; commends the dedication and hard work of the St Aidan’s team, which was mentored by Deputy Lieutenant Linda McDowall, and recognises the esteemed judging panel, chaired by former Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire, Gibby Cox CVO MBE, which also included Marion White MBE, director of fatBuzz Marketing Agency, Paul Cooney, CEO of The Kiltwalk, and The Rt Hon Adam Ingram, retired MP and UK Government minister; acknowledges the participation of Hamilton College School, St Aidan's High School from Wishaw, St Maurice's High School from Cumbernauld, and Uddingston Grammar School, which delivered compelling speeches on the theme of "Citizenship in Our Schools and Community", and wishes them all the best for the future.
