That the Parliament celebrates the success of the Glen Mhor Hotel in Inverness, which recently won a special commendation award at the first World Sustainable Travel and Hospitality Awards in Belize, in the Leading Sustainable Energy Efficiency Initiative category; commends the hotel for aligning with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and for launching a pioneering £8 million energy centre in 2022; understands that Glen Mhor runs on water source heat pumps and solar panels, and aims to be gas-free by the end of 2024; notes that the hotel, on the banks of the River Ness, removes an estimated 250 tonnes of carbon per year from the atmosphere; understands what it sees as the importance of sustainability and fair work within tourism in Scotland, both of which Glen Mhor has adopted, and wishes Glen Mhor all the best for its sustainable future.
