Commending John McBarron

  • Submitted by: Neil Bibby, West Scotland, Scottish Labour
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 28 August 2024
  • Motion type: Standard Motion
  • Motion reference: S6M-14203
  • Current status: Fallen

That the Parliament commends John McBarron, founder of the Johnstone and Area Community Transport service, on the launch of his new not-for-profit bus service; understands that the service operates on routes between Johnstone, Elderslie and Cochrane Castle; notes that this is the second such bus service that John has introduced to his area in 2024, with the first operating between Johnstone and Kilbarchan; believes that the idea for the services came after John heard about the many problems people in his area reportedly had with their existing services, and thanks him for his efforts in supporting his local community.
