Congratulating Steve Farrell

That the Parliament congratulates the long service of Steve Farrell and thanks him for the work that he has done within the Parliament; notes Steve's 46 years of public service, including 21 years as a civil servant in the Scottish Office and 25 years in the Parliament; further notes that Steve was involved in setting up the Parliament following the 1997 referendum, and, in the early days as a member of the Business Team, was involved in developing procedures and processes for the first meetings in the Chamber, many of which are still in place today; acknowledges that Steve has been a Clerk to six committees, including as the first Clerk to the then Public Petitions Committee, where Steve was instrumental in setting up the Scottish Parliament's public petitions system; understands that Steve’s formal retirement date is 31 August 2024, and wishes him all the best for his retirement.
