Robert Burns Academy Pupils Raise Funds for Ayrshire Cancer Support

  • Submitted by: Elena Whitham, Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 19 June 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-13708

That the Parliament commends staff and pupils from Robert Burns Academy in Cumnock who have raised over £1,000 for Ayrshire Cancer Support by taking on the "Roon the Toon" 10k run in Kilmarnock; understands that this is not the first time that a team from the school has taken part in the run to raise funds, as one of the teachers has taken on many fundraising events throughout his teaching career, all for a range of different charities, which has led to his pupils catching the bug and taking on similar challenges, and wishes them all a well-deserved summer break.
