  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 20 March 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12563

That the Parliament congratulates a Perthshire business, which has been recognised for promoting disability employment; notes that Abernethy-based Clootie McToot Dumplings has been shortlisted for a Small Business Award at the Department for Work and Pension (DWP) Disability Confident Awards; understands that the baking business, which specialises in clootie dumplings, has supported the employment of disabled people by engaging with the DWP, support workers, and families to address any negative attitudes to disability employment; further understands that 80% of the bakery’s staff have a disability, and that there is a waiting list for other disabled people who want to join them to work for the business, and wishes Clootie McToot Dumplings all the best with the Disability Confident Awards and for the future.
