That the Parliament welcomes Aldi and Age Scotland's Festive Friends initiative; understands that the initiative encourages Aldi's young shoppers to share their favourite poems or jokes on a postcard and submit them through post-boxes, which will be in Scottish Aldi stores until 19 November 2023; further understands that the postcards will then be distributed to Age Scotland community groups across Scotland, to bring what it sees as some much-needed joy to older people experiencing loneliness this winter; understands that Age Scotland has estimated that 100,000 older people in Scotland feel lonely all or most of the time, and that 200,000 will not see or hear from anyone for several days each week; thanks Aldi, Age Scotland, and all their staff and volunteers for their commitment and dedication, and encourages everyone to complete a postcard.
