Social Enterprise Awards Scotland 2023

That the Parliament celebrates the Social Enterprise Awards Scotland 2023; notes that the annual ceremony, which celebrates businesses that are having a positive social and environmental impact in urban and rural communities across Scotland, including in the Shetland Islands constituency, took place in the Scottish Parliament on 26 October; sends congratulations to all of the nominees and the winners; notes that these included Merry-Go-Round, which won the Environmental category, Resilience Learning Partnership, which was presented with the Building Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Justice award, Aban, which was named as the One to Watch, Macaulay College CIC, which won the Health and Social Care category, and Circular Communities Scotland Reuse Consortium, the winner of the Buy Social Market Builder award; applauds Lisa Gemmell, community and relationship mentor of Be-inn Unity CIC for being named Employee Champion, and Janie Conlon, tartan volunteer for the Grassmarket Community Project for winning Volunteer Champion; congratulates Red Chair Highland Ltd on being awarded the Tech for Good honour, and the Isle of Skye Ferry CIC on being named as the Social Enterprise of the Year; recognises what it sees as the vital contribution of social enterprises in building community wealth, fairness and prosperity for all and a strong, resilient, wellbeing economy, and commends Social Enterprise Scotland on a successful awards ceremony that brought social entrepreneurs together with their local and regional MSPs.
