That the Parliament congratulates Renfrewshire Schools Pipe Band on winning first place in the Novice B category at the prestigious and highly competitive World Pipe Band Championships; understands that the band is made up of young people from schools across Renfrewshire and took home first place after competing against 29 other pipe bands from around the world; recognises that it was Renfrewshire Schools Pipe Band’s second major competition win in 2023, after it experienced success in the same category at the 2023 Scottish Pipe Band Championships in July; notes that Keith Bowes, the pipe major of the band, said that everyone is over the moon about their latest victory and that this really has been the icing on the cake of a very successful season; recognises that this was an amazing achievement for the band and one that they should all be extremely proud of; congratulates them once again, and wishes them the best of luck in any future competitions.
