That the Parliament congratulates a group of cyclists from the Celtic Minded forum on successfully undertaking a significant one-day cycling challenge on 25 May 2023, to mark the 56th anniversary of Celtic FC winning the European Cup in Lisbon; understands that, in recognising that the Lisbon Lions all came from within 30 miles of Celtic Park, the cycling group visited the home towns and areas of every Lisbon Lion on the epic cycle; notes that the group started in Saltcoats, continuing on their 90-mile journey which included Govan, Royston, Firhill, Kirkintilloch, Chapelhall, Motherwell, Bellshill, Viewpark, Burnbank, Blantyre, Cambuslang, Cathcart, Rutherglen, Parkhead, and finishing on the Celtic Way; pays tribute to the efforts of all participating cyclists, Joe Dolan, Anne Duffy, Martin Kuhn, Barry Griffin, John Mallon, Gordon Hainey and Graham Kinnon; welcomes that former Celtic captain, Tom Boyd, also joined the group and completed the entire cycle; understands that the group received technical and logistical support from Sunny Cycles, as well as their lunch at Lambhill Stables at the Forth and Clyde Canal; commends the group, who raised over £2,400 for their chosen charity, The Kano Foundation, and congratulates all involved in both completing their epic challenge and raising welcome funds for charity.
