Celebrating the Success of the Angus Glens Moorland Group "Estates that Educate" Programme

  • Submitted by: Liam Kerr, North East Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 02 June 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-09220

That the Parliament congratulates Angus Glens Moorland Group on its successful Estates that Educate programme; understands that the project was established in 2016 and that, in 2022, it was introduced in three different regions of Scotland, involving more than 2,000 young individuals who actively participated in practical demonstrations focusing on rural conservation and land management skills; further understands that these activities are developed in collaboration with schools to involve students and address what it sees as the shortage of rural skills; notes that Angus Glens Moorland Group is working to ensure the survival of rural communities and counter the decline in rural populations, and wishes it continued success with the programme in the future.
