That the Parliament recognises the demonstrations of public engagement and democracy that took place from 29 April to 6 May 2023, as communities across Scotland, including those in Aberdeen and Dundee, recognised and celebrated International Workers’ Day, also known as May Day; remembers the workers around the world who have died while protesting for their rights; recognises the ongoing industrial action and trade union organising of workers across Scotland; highlights what it sees as the value of democratically accountable structures in achieving a fair and equal society; believes that workers struggle for sufficient living conditions in the shadow of centuries-old structures of capital, wealth and inequality, and offers solidarity to workers around the world, recognising what it considers to be the sovereign birthright of everyone's common humanity.
