That the Parliament maintains its solidarity with the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who celebrate their Independence Day on 1 March 2023; understands that many citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina voted in an independence referendum on 29 February and 1 March 1992; further understands that independence was voted for by 99.7% of voters in a referendum with a 63.6% turnout; understands that the result of the referendum was accepted on 6 March 1992 by the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina and, on 7 April 1992, the then European Community recognised Bosnia and Herzegovina as an independent state; further understands that the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina decided on 28 February 1995 that 1 March would be the Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a national holiday; acknowledges that Independence Day was celebrated for the first time on 1 March 1995, and wishes the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina a happy Independence Day and the very best of celebrations.
