Congratulating Next Steps Initiative in Glasgow Kelvin on Receipt of National Lottery Heritage Grant Funding

That the Parliament welcomes the awarding of a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant of £24,680 and potential delivery grant of £691,713 to the Heritage Leader Traineeship Programme project run by Next Step Initiative based in Glasgow Kelvin; understands that this project will deliver an equality, diversity and inclusion heritage leadership trainee programme, which aims to address the need for organisational and workforce development to overcome barriers to cultural change within the Scottish heritage sector; notes that Next Step Initiative is a charity and leading ethnic minority social enterprise that has been working to empower, improve and transform the quality of life of African communities in Scotland since 2009, and has also helped to train and empower young people in African emerging nations to become entrepreneurial, and congratulates Next Step Initiative on these awards, and on what it considers to be the success to date in building healthy, productive and sustainable African communities and lives in Scotland.
