Beat 6 by Six by Nico

  • Submitted by: Dr Sandesh Gulhane, Glasgow, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 11 March 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-03435

That the Parliament applauds what it sees as the philanthropy of the team behind the Six by Nico restaurant group who are donating 100% of the profits from their Beat 6 restaurant in the heart of Dennistoun, Glasgow, to Beatson Cancer Charity; understands that restaurateur Nico Simeone, his wife and their family want to help the Beatson Cancer Charity help others, after Nico's wife benefited from treatment at the Beatson; further understands that Beat 6 on Whitehill Street, Dennistoun, opened in November 2021 and donates all profits from the restaurant directly towards the Beatson Cancer Charity to help to support patients and their families throughout their cancer journey; notes that the restaurant group will also host a series of team events to raise funds across its nine locations in England, Scotland, and Ireland and are adding a discretionary £1 charge per diner in Scotland, which, it understands, will be donated directly to the Beatson Cancer Charity, and understands that the Beatson Cancer Charity considers that the contribution made by this initiative will be immeasurable.
