To ask the Scottish Government what its response is to the recent report by the NSPCC, How safe are our children? 2017, and its findings that, in Scotland, there was a (a) 35% increase between 2002 and 2016 of the number of children on a child protection register at one time, (b) 116% increase between 2002 and 2016 of the number of children added to a child protection register each year and (c) 7% increase between 2014 and 2016 of the number of police-recorded offences for "obscene publications".

To ask the Scottish Government what steps it is taking to tackle the challenges presented to the NHS by the ageing population of the Scottish Borders in light of the report, Household Projections for Scotland, 2014-based, published by the National Records of Scotland, which predicts that the number of households in the region headed by someone aged over 75 will increase by 83% between 2014 and 2039.
