Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government what information it has on how many schools (a) are twinned and (b) have electronic links with schools in China and what encouragement it gives to schools wanting to develop such initiatives.

To ask the Scottish Government what action it is taking to encourage (a) trade, (b) educational and (c) other links with China; whether it is encouraging airlines to establish direct flights between Scotland and China to help improve these links; whether it considers that the visa arrangements for Chinese citizens entering the UK has an impact on such links and, if so, what discussions it has had with the UK Government in this regard.
