Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government what sex and relationship education is provided in (a) schools for (i) disabled children and (ii) children with additional support needs and (b) young offender institutions, and whether this includes information on how to access (A) confidential and sexual and reproductive healthcare services, (B) contraceptives and (C) support in cases of sexual abuse or exploitation.

To ask the Scottish Government what its position is on the recommendation made by the Independent Commission on Religion and Belief in British Public Life in its report, Living with Difference: Community, Diversity and the Common Good, that "the legal requirement for schools to hold acts of collective worship should be repealed, and replaced by a requirement to hold inclusive times for reflection".
