Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government how many people have had their image taken by the police in each year since 2007, broken down by legacy force or division; how many were never (a) subsequently charged with and (b) convicted of an offence, and what information it has on what happened to the images.

To ask the Scottish Government whether the Scotland Act 1998 (Modifications of Schedules 4 and 5 and Transfer of Functions to the Scottish Ministers etc.) Order 2015 has the effect of extending the legislative competence of the Scottish Parliament to include Section 3 of the Representation of the People Act 1983 in respect of people aged 16 and 17 who are in prison.
