Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Executive what assessment it has made of the comment by the chief constable of Grampian Police reported in The Herald on 18 May 2010 that “We have a positive relationship with the Justice Secretary but we come out of a meeting with him and then the civil servants give us a completely contrary message” and what action it plans to take.
