To ask the Scottish Executive how much transport expenditure there has been in each (a) regional transport partnership and (b) local authority area in each of the last five years, also expressed on a per capita basis.

<>Information about Transport Scotland expenditure on transport and roads can be found in table 10.1 of the publication Scottish Transport Statistics http://www.transportscotland.gov.uk/strategy-and-research/publications-and-consultations/j205779-152.htm. However, the information cannot easily be broken down by local authority area.

The following tables provide both capital and revenue expenditure and expenditure per capita by regional transport partnership area and local authority area:

To ask the Scottish Executive how much funding has been provided to deliver alcohol support services in (a) Aberdeen City, (b) Aberdeenshire and (c) Angus in each of the last five years.

The Scottish Government routes the investment in services to tackle problematic drug and alcohol use through NHS boards for administrative purposes. NHS boards therefore, disburse funding amongst local Alcohol and Drug Partnerships (ADPs). In those areas where there is more than one ADP, the NHS board will agree with ADPs how this funding should be distributed between them.

The Scottish Government does not hold information on what proportion of this funding is given to which ADP.

The following tables provide the allocations to NHS Grampian and NHS Tayside for ADPs in their board area.

To ask the Scottish Executive how many deaths in NHS Grampian hospitals were alcohol related in each of the last five years and how many of these were of people aged (i) under 18, (ii) 18 to 29, (iii) 30 to 55 and (iv) over 55.

The information requested is given in the following table. These figures are provided on the same basis as the statistics of alcohol-related deaths published annually by the National Records of Scotland. The figures for 2011 are provisional; final statistics for 2011 will be available in August.

To ask the Scottish Executive how many children have been classed as living in poverty in (a) Aberdeen and (b) Aberdeenshire in each of the last three years.

<>The Scottish Government publishes figures annually on the levels of child poverty in Scotland. This information can be accessed at http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Publications/2012/06/7976. The figures are based on information from the Family Resources Survey (FRS) and the latest available data refers to the year 2010-11. The FRS is a sample survey and the sample size is not sufficient to provide reliable estimates at local authority level.

Figures published by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) can be used as a proxy for poverty at local authority level in Scotland. Figures covering Scotland for the year 2009 were published on 29 September 2011 for the first time and show the proportion of children living in families in receipt of out of work benefits or in receipt of tax credits where their reported income is less than 60 per cent of median income. This is a proxy indicator for child poverty and is not directly comparable with estimates used in monitoring national child poverty targets which are based on the FRS. The data can be accessed at http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/stats/personal-tax-credits/child_poverty.htm. The figures show that (a) in Aberdeen City 5,490 children (15.9%) and (b) in Aberdeenshire 4,525 children (8.7%) are classed as living in poverty.
