To ask the Scottish Executive how much it cost to launch, publish and distribute the Fisheries Research Services' Statistical Bulletin Scottish Salmon and Sea Trout Catches 2000 and how many copies of the document have been sold to the public.
Answer
Seven hundred copies of the report were published this year at a cost of £1406.00. Distribution costs were £183.91. HMSO sales to date are 43.

To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will detail any implications for its plans to change the date of the next local authority elections arising from the incorporation of European Convention on Human Rights into Scots law.

There are no implications as it is not considered that there is anything in the proposals put forward in this Bill which will infringe ECHR.

To ask the Presiding Officer what the projected cost will be in (a) 2001-02, (b) 2002-03 and (c) 2003-04 of the Parliament's new child care voucher scheme which will be available to MSPs and staff.
Answer
We estimate that the cost of the scheme will be up to around £200,000 per annum. Since the scheme is being introduced later this year, the cost in the current financial year will be considerably less.

To ask the Scottish Executive what steps it is taking to increase the number of visually impaired people voting in local elections.
Answer
The Representation of the People Act 2000 made changes to parliamentary elections rules in relation to assistance with voting for people with disabilities. Similar measures will be introduced for local government elections later this year and will make it easier for visually impaired people to cast their votes.

To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answers to questions S1W-17365 and S1W-17678 by Sarah Boyack on 21 and 28 August 2001, what it is doing to reduce the number of personal injury accidents on the Tayport to Glenrothes part of the A92.
Answer
Actions to improve road safety on the Glenrothes to Tayport section of the A92 will include alterations to the Balfarg Junction and the construction of a roundabout at the A92/Markinch Road Junction. These two schemes are programmed to commence in October 2001 and in spring/early summer 2002 respectively.
