Answer
The Partnership Agreementcommitment to treble the number of nurse consultants to 54 by 2007, has beenfulfilled. There are now 59 nurse consultant posts in Scotlandestablished, approved and at various stages of the recruitment process, orvacant.

To ask the Scottish Executive what provision is made in local authority grant aided expenditure allocations for the funding of effective methods of consulting local people on local or national issues.
Answer
There is no specific grant aidedexpenditure provision included within the core local government financesettlement in respect of local authorities’ expenditure incurred consultinglocal people on local or national issues. The core local government financesettlement to local authorities is provided as a largely unhypothecated grantand local authorities have the responsibility to allocate their total resourceson the basis of their own local needs and priorities including the effectiveconsultation with their electorate.

To ask the Scottish Executive how it will involve the Grand Orange Lodge of Scotland and the Catholic Church in Scotland in the development of its Action Plan on Tackling Sectarianism in Scotland, in the Task Group on Tackling Sectarianism or in the Working Group on Marches and Parades.
Answer
The Scottish Executive is involvedin an on-going dialogue with the Grand Orange Lodge of Scotland and the CatholicChurch on how to tackle sectarianism. These discussions have allowed the views ofboth to be taken into account in the development of the Action Plan on TacklingSectarianism in Scotland and the initiatives which will deliver on these actions.In particular, the Orange Lodge has contributed to documents which are being preparedby the Working Group on Marches and Parades and members of the Catholic Church are representedon the Task Group on Tackling Sectarianism,the Executive’s Core Liaison Group and at the annual meetings between the FirstMinister and Action of Churches Together in Scotland.

To ask the Scottish Executive what discussions it has had with Her Majesty’s Government regarding the creation of a national gun register.
Answer
The Executive has workedclosely with the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland (ACPOS) todetermine the most appropriate and efficient means of ensuring that theinformation required by section 39 is held by all Scottish Forces, and is indiscussion with the Home Office to facilitate the exchange and sharing ofinformation that will facilitate full Great Britain compliance at the earliestopportunity.

To ask the Scottish Executive what action has been, or will be, taken to ensure that (a) projects funded under the Children, Young People and Families Unified Voluntary Sector Fund will continue to be funded in 2006-07 and beyond and (b) projects are advised about their funding in good time in order to avoid their closure.
Answer
The fund currently supports renewablecore funding for headquarter costs, non-renewable project funding and one-off capitalgrants to voluntary organisations.
For 2006-07 it was decided thatapplications would be accepted from organisations in receipt of core headquartersgrants which were due to expire in March 2006. Assessment of these applicationshas been completed and all applicants have been advised of their awards for 2006-07and 2007-08.

To ask the Scottish Executive what charges will be made for disclosure checks for applicants (a) applying directly to Disclosure Scotland and (b) applying via the Central Registered Body in Scotland; whether these charges have changed and, if so, by how much.
Answer
From 1 April 2006, the costof applications to Disclosure Scotland will be £20. This replaces the previous feeof £13.60 that has been in place since April 2002. Scottish ministers will continueto cover the cost of disclosure applications for volunteers working with childrenand adults at risk. These applications are processed through the Central RegisteredBody for Scotland.
