Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the statement by Nicola Sturgeon on 21 March 2012 (Official Report, c. 7456) regarding waiting times management by NHS Lothian, what private providers are being used by the board to tackle the waiting times backlog and at what cost; whether it considers that the extra £4.8 million invested by it and NHS Lothian is sufficient to deal with the backlog, and whether it will provide additional funding to the board to deal with this issue, should it prove necessary.
