To ask the Scottish Executive what steps it is taking to promote an Aberdeen-led Scottish bid to be the hub for the proposed Energy Technologies Institute.
Answer
We are participating fully inthe process outlined by the Department for Trade and Industry to establish the EnergyTechnologies Institute.
We are working in partnershipwith Scottish universities, the economic development agencies, the Scottish FundingCouncil, ITI Energy and industry to develop a comprehensive and co-ordinated bidto attract a significant proportion of the Energy Technologies Institute’s researchfunds to centres of excellence in Scotland, including Aberdeen.

I have asked Tony Cameron, Chief Executive of the Scottish Prison Service to respond. His response is as follows:
The most common medicine prescribedin the clinical management of drug dependency is methadone. The following tablesets out the number of prisoners at each establishment being prescribed methadoneon 25 August 2006, which is the latest information readily available.
