To ask the Scottish Executive whether information is available concerning the holding of a fatal accident inquiry into the deaths of the three members of the crew of the tug, Flying Phantom, when their vessel foundered in the River Clyde on 19 December 2007.
Answer
Reports have been submitted by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch and Strathclyde Police to the Procurator Fiscal at Paisley in relation to the circumstances of the accident. The investigation of the circumstances of the accident by both Strathclyde Police and the Procurator Fiscal at Paisley continues. At the conclusion of the investigation a decision will be taken on further proceedings. The further proceedings may include a fatal accident inquiry. The families of the deceased are being kept informed.

To ask the Scottish Executive what plans it has to ensure that every local authority has a named individual or team with responsibility for coordinating services for adults with autism.
Answer
The guidance for commissioners of services for people on the autism spectrum includes a recommendation for local authorities and health boards to work in partnership to appoint an ASD coordinator.
Reviewing the guidance and other national policy developments for ASD and learning disability remains on the agenda of The same as you? national implementation group.

To ask the Scottish Executive whether it plans to ensure that adults with autism are counted by their local authority or community health partnership.
Answer
Recent guidance for commissioners of health and social care services for people on the autism spectrum recommends that local authorities and health boards work together to identify and keep a record of people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in their area.
The Scottish Government has national annual statistical returns on implementation of The same as you? learning disability review. From this year these returns are being collected through eSAY, a national data collection tool run by the Scottish Consortium for Learning Disability (SCLD). The data will include the number of people diagnosed with ASD in touch with local authority services.

To ask the Scottish Executive whether it plans to utilise the opportunity provided by the 2011 Census to count disabilities such as autism in order to provide accurate figures to plan and commission services.
Answer
The General Register Office for Scotland will consider the best approach for the question on long-term health conditions to be included in the 2011 Census. The sample questionnaire which will be used in a census rehearsal in March 2009 can be found at

Data from this year''s census rehearsal and some cognitive testing work will inform further development and refinement of the question.
