To ask the Scottish Executive what steps the Scottish Government is taking to support Co-operative Education Trust Scotland through the Determined to Succeed strategy.
Answer
The Scottish Governmenthas supported the Co-operative Education Trust Scotland since its inception in 2005. £60,000 of Determined to Succeed funding wasprovided for its initial two year pilot period, to support the development of educationalresources produced under its “Co-operate to Succeed” initiative. We continue towork closely with the organisers to raise the profile of Co-operate to Succeed andsupport their work.

Co-operative DevelopmentScotland (CDS), a subsidiary of Scottish Enterprise, has a specific role in encouragingnew and existing co-operatives with growth potential, and the Scottish Governmentis supportive of this activity and will continue links with the CDS in it’s developmentof the co-operative sector.

To ask the Scottish Executive how the Kirkcaldy Renaissance Partnership project will be funded and supported following the restructuring of the enterprise networks.
Answer
The Cabinet Secretaryfor Finance and Sustainable Growth announced on the 26 September that local regenerationactivities in the Scottish Enterprise area will become the responsibility of localauthorities. The details of this will be determined when the exact nature of theactivity to be transferred is resolved and we are working to do this as quicklyas possible. However, where formal Scottish Enterprise funding commitments existfor approved projects these will be met.
