Question

To ask the Scottish Government whether Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) will be granted taught degree awarding power through secondary legislation, and, if so, within what timeframe.


Answer

An Order granting SRUC taught degree awarding powers was made by the Privy Council on 29 August, and was laid in the Scottish Parliament on 2 September 2024. Once the parliamentary process is complete, the Order will come into force on 14 October 2024.
