Sources: Scottish Government Housing and Regeneration Programme (HARP) system, and NB2 private-led new build completions data sourced from local authority administrative systems.

Affordable rent and social rent completions consist of new build, open market purchase and rehabilitation homes. Of the 517 homes delivered since 2016-17 in Dundee, 369 were new build homes; of which 363 were for social rent and 6 for other affordable rent. The next set of quarterly affordable housing statistics (October to December 2020) are due to be published in the next Housing Statistics Quarterly update on 23 March 2021.

Within the Affordable Housing Supply Programme (AHSP) social rent completions can include homes for Registered Social Landlord (RSL) and Council House social rent. Other affordable rent completions include homes for mid-market rent. Affordable home ownership completions include homes for RSL and Council House shared equity as well as the Open Market Shared Equity scheme. A more detailed breakdown of which tenures are included in each category can be seen in the table AHSP Expenditure by Category for 2019-20 within the latest AHSP 2019-20 Out-turn Report, found at the following link:

https://www.gov.scot/publications/affordable-housing-supply-programme-out-turn-report-2019-2020/

Private-led new build completions figures include not only homes built for private sale but also some homes which are used in the affordable housing sector and self-build activity, although these categories are not separately identifiable. There therefore may be some homes that appear in both the private-led new build completions figures as well as in the other affordable rent or social rent figures presented.

Due to COVID-19 related delays in data provision by some local authorities, private sector led completions figures are only available up to December 2019, with figures up to March 2020 being published in the next Housing Statistics Quarterly update on 23rd March 2021.
