Scottish Parliament Audit Committee Tuesday 9 January 2001 (Afternoon)
[The Convener opened the meeting at 14:02]
I declare the Audit Committee's first meeting of 2001 open. I wish all committee members, staff and our colleagues in Audit Scotland a very good and successful new year.
I have received no apologies from members.
Before we move on to the agenda items, I welcome Keith Raffan to the committee. In addition, I want to put on record our thanks to the members who have left: Cathie Craigie, Brian Adam, Euan Robson, Annabel Goldie, Lewis Macdonald and Karen Whitefield. The committee has been well served by its members, both past and present, and I thank them all.
Lloyd Quinan has just arrived—I welcome him too, and wish him a very good new year.
Thank you.
The first item on the agenda is consideration of whether to take item 3—a briefing on the national health service—in private. Are we agreed?
Members indicated agreement.
