Scottish Government Responses

At our previous meeting, we agreed to write to the Scottish Government about six instruments. Members have seen the Government's responses.

Companies Act 2006 (Scottish public sector companies to be audited by the Auditor General for Scotland) Order 2008 (Draft)

The Convener:

Are members content to draw the order to the attention of the lead committee and Parliament on the grounds that in relation to questions (a), (b) and (d), an explanation, with which we are satisfied, was sought and received from the Government?

Members indicated agreement.

I also point out that in our summary of recommendations it is suggested that the committee report on an issue on point (c). However, our legal advisers—as members have been informed—have satisfied themselves on that point.

Environment Act 1995: The UK Strategy for Radioactive Discharges: Draft Statutory Guidance (SG/2008/13)

Are members content with the Scottish Government's response, and, if so, to draw the guidance to the attention of the lead committee and Parliament on that basis?

Members indicated agreement.

National Health Service (Charges for Drugs and Appliances) (Scotland) Regulations 2008 (SSI 2008/27)

Are members content to draw the regulations to the attention of the lead committee and Parliament on the grounds set out in points (a) to (g) in the summary of recommendations?

Members indicated agreement.

Sea Fish (Prohibited Methods of Fishing) (Firth of Clyde) Order 2008 (SSI 2008/29)

Are members content with the Scottish Government's response, and, if so, to draw the order to the attention of the lead committee on that basis?

Members indicated agreement.

Discontinuance of Legalised Police Cells (Scotland) Revocation Rules 2008 <br />(SSI 2008/35)

The Convener:

Are members content with the Scottish Government's explanation of the breach of the 21-day rule, and, if so, to draw the rules to the attention of the lead committee and Parliament on the grounds set out in the summary of recommendations?

Members indicated agreement.

That is my Thurso police station.

Home Detention Curfew Licence (Prescribed Standard Conditions) (Scotland) Order 2008 (SSI 2008/36)

Are members content with the Scottish Government's response, and, if so, to draw the order to the attention of the lead committee and the Parliament on that basis?

Members indicated agreement.
