Petitions

We move to petition PE147 on a meeting between the Sheltered Retirement Housing Owners Confederation and ministers. It is a curious petition.

Let us be clear about the procedure. Members will have seen the clerk's recommendation. We can discuss the petition if we need to and will then move to a decision on the recommendation and to any other proposals. Can I have a general indication of members' views?

We should agree the recommendation.

Is it agreed that we accept the recommendation?

Members indicated agreement.

We move to PE209 on elderly care and South Ayrshire Council. We will have a general discussion and then decide on the clerk's recommendation, which is the same as for petition PE195, which we discussed last week.

Will the petition come back to us if we refer it back to the Public Petitions Committee?

Yes.

So it will come back to us with further information and we will then be able to do what we choose?

The Public Petitions Committee has to do something with it.

The Public Petitions Committee will refer it back to this committee once it has obtained further information.

Is the recommendation agreed?

Members indicated agreement.
