Good morning, and welcome to the eighth meeting in 2011 of the Local Government and Communities Committee—and our final meeting of this parliamentary session. I express my appreciation to Bob Doris, my deputy convener, and to the other members of the committee. You have supported me—you could have made life much more difficult for me over the past few years. I appreciate all the help and co-operation that I have had from you.
We will discuss our legacy paper later on in the meeting. I am sure that much of our work has still to be completed, but I hope that we have achieved at least some measures that have affected the lives of the people we represent.
The first item on our agenda today is subordinate legislation. We have three negative instruments to consider. Members have received electronic copies of the instruments, and no concerns have been raised and no motions to annul have been lodged.
The Subordinate Legislation Committee has considered all three instruments. It commented on the drafting practice in SSI 2011/136 and SSI 2011/139 but is content that the purpose and operation of the instruments will be unaffected.
Do members agree that they do not wish to make any recommendations to Parliament on the instruments?
Members indicated agreement.
The committee has previously agreed to take agenda item 2 in private.

Meeting continued in private until 10:15.
