Dear Convenor,
I am pleased to respond to the Net Zero, Energy and Transport Committee’s report on the Scottish Budget 2022-23.
I welcome the Committee’s broad themes and review questions which I offer a response to in the annex to this letter. 2022-23 will be a challenging year for my portfolio as we deliver on the Programme for Government, Bute House and Manifesto commitments against a backdrop of a difficult fiscal position and ongoing covid support requirements across our transport network and the upcoming Resource Spending Review.
I welcome the Committee’s continued oversight and scrutiny on progress.
