13 Years of the HI-Scot Credit Union

That the Parliament congratulates the HI-Scot Credit Union, which is based in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, on 13 years of operation; notes that HI-Scot began as the Western Isles Credit Union in 2006 and expanded services across the entire Highlands and to Orkney and Shetland in 2011; recognises that HI-Scot serves over 3,000 members in the Highlands and Islands; commends the credit union for serving as a vital community resource for people in the Highlands and Islands; understands that, throughout the last 13 years, HI-Scot has approved over £9.5 million in loans helping people in the Highlands and Islands make large purchases, and wishes HI-Scot continued success in the coming years.
