Costica Darie Wins SQA Student of the Year Award

That the Parliament congratulates the HNC Childhood Practice graduate, Costica Darie, on winning the SQA Student of the Year Award for outstanding academic achievement at West Lothian College’s graduation ceremony on 29 October 2020; understands that Costica started at the college three years ago as an ESOL student and progressed directly into year two of the Primary Education Studies degree at Queen Margaret University on completion of his HNC; commends Costica for playing a leading role in West Lothian College’s Men into Childcare campaign by facilitating outdoor learning workshops with third year school pupils in the college’s forest classroom, and applauds him for raising awareness of the difference that men can make in early learning settings.
