Question
To ask the Scottish Government for what reason applications for funding from the £16.4 million allocated to it in October 2019 by the Treasury as a replacement for European Maritime Fisheries Fund money did not open immediately to those in the fishing industry in Scotland.
Answer
The assumption this funding was not made immediately available is incorrect. It was available straight away with the £3m which was allocated to 2019-20, assisting unfunded bids previously submitted to the European Maritime & Fisheries Fund.
