Scottish Jewish Archives Centre Heritage Walking Trail

  • Submitted by: Dr. Sandesh Gulhane, Glasgow, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 20 January 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-02860

That the Parliament commends all those involved in the Scottish Jewish Archives Centre at the Garnethill Synagogue in Glasgow for the creation of a new heritage walking trail; understands that, by using collections from the Archive Centre, the trail showcases buildings connected with Jewish refugees who came to Glasgow from Europe before, during and after the Second World War, and tells the story of many individuals who came to the city at that time; believes that this initiative will prove to be an invaluable resource and will encourage local people and visitors alike to find out more about the fascinating history of Garnethill, and is grateful to the Archive Centre for making information on the trail available through its website for download at sjhc.org.uk.
