Alice Mackenzie MBE, a Life of Service to Others

That the Parliament acknowledges the passing of Alice Mackenzie on 21 December 2021 at the age of 92; understands that Alice was the founder of the Soroptimist International Kirkintilloch and District Branch; commends what it sees as her lifelong commitment to being a voice for the voiceless and a friend to the marginalised locally, nationally and internationally; celebrates what it considers as a life well-lived in the service of others, including raising awareness of issues, advocacy and campaigning against injustices that particularly affect women and girls worldwide; celebrates what it sees as her wholehearted altruistic nature, practical support and dedication to causes enabling human dignity to be restored, and sends sincere condolences to her family, friends and the members of Soroptimists International in Strathkelvin and Bearsden and beyond, who knew, respected and adored Alice as an inspirational leader of great wisdom and a shining beacon to those around her.
