Charity Fundraising by 10-year-old Jacob Williams

  • Submitted by: Russell Findlay, West Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 17 January 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-02717

That the Parliament congratulates Jacob Williams, who is aged 10 and from Paisley, on raising £2,700 for the Beatson Cancer Charity after selflessly asking his friends and family not to give him any presents for his birthday, but to instead donate to the charity; understands that Jacob’s father, Nick, who passed away from skin cancer in August 2021, received care at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre; commends Jacob’s kindness and generosity; notes that Jacob previously raised money for the Accord Hospice in Paisley, where his father spent some time, and recognises the important work of both the Accord Hospice and Beatson Cancer Charity in providing support for those diagnosed with cancer and their families.
